March is National Youth Art Month and the Sidney Art Gallery hosts its annual student show featuring art work from students of South Kitsap High School and the Discovery Alternative School.  Easter is April 1 this year so the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the South Kitsap Regional Park, sponsored by Fathoms O' Fun will be held March 31st. 

The Port Orchard Farmers Market opens April 15 and continues every Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm until mid-October.  The Port Orchard Farmers Market will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.  

The Port Orchard Marina opens 2018 boating season on the first Saturday of May, May 5.  The second annual Port Orchard Film Festival takes place May 4-6, hosted by the Dragonfly Theatre.  If you Facebook, check out their event here.  The Sidney Art Gallery hosts the 47th annual Helen Norris Open Art show during May with the reception on Sunday, May 7.  The Lady Washington will be in port offerng tours and evening sailings on May 16 through May 24.  Memorial Day Weekend May 26-27 brings the 11th Annual Kitsap Harbor Festival, to the Port Orchard and Bremerton Waterfronts. In Port Orchard, the Festival includes the 30th anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce's Seagull Calling Contest and Wings Cookoff on Saturday, May 26.  

The Port Orchard Bay Street Association is featuring Ladies Night Out on June 1, from 5pm to 8 pm in downtown Port Orchard.  Beginning in June (June 7) and continuing until August 31, Fathoms O’ Fun presents Concerts by the Bay at the Port Orchard Marina Park each Thursday evening beginning at 6:30 pm. The Fathoms O' Fun Summer Festival grand parade is scheduled on June 30 at 6 pm as part of a three day Summer Festival Craft & Vendor Show June 29 through July 1. The Dingy Derby on Sunday, July 1 at noon.  There will be parade day activities all day in downtown Port Orchard.  

The Fourth of July Fathoms O' Fun Grand Fireworks light up the skies over Sinclair Inlet at 10:30PM. Then, the Chris Craft Rendezvous returns to the Port Orchard Marina on July 12-15.  On July 13 and 14, the Art & Antique Fair will be held during the Chris Craft Rendezvous throughout downtown Port Orchard and along the waterfront.  Mustangs on the Waterfront are on display Sunday, July 29.

Port Orchard's National Night Out will take place on August 7, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Water Street Boat Launch, across from Port Orchard City Hall.  This free, family friendly event, promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make for safe communities.  The Saints Car Club's classic car show, The Cruz, attracts cars and visitors from far and wide on Sunday, August 12 to the Port Orchard waterfront. Fathoms O’ Fund Festival by the Bay is held August 12 in conjunction with the Cruz.  On August 18, the tall ships arrive for a Pirate Rendezvous and geocaching event.  The Port Orchard Farmers Market will be celebrating their 40th anniversary with an extended market and activities.

Sunday, September 2 enjoy The Taste of Port Orchard on the waterfront in Port Orchard where many excellent Port Orchard restaurants will be providing food and the special artwalk is held. Across the water in Bremerton, the 29th annual Blackberry Festival will be held September 1-3.

The Port Orchard Bay Street Association features Ladies Night Out on Bay Street where goodies, give aways and gifts happen October 5!  On Saturday, October 27, starting at 2:00 p.m. Port Orchard will have the second annual Spookfest Halloween events, including Trick or Treat in Downtown Port Orchard, costume contest at the Port Orchard Public Market, children's costume parade, and a scarecrow contest.  Other downtown events that day include Pictures with a Witch at the Sidney Art Gallery and Museum, the Haunted Library at the Kitsap Regional Library Port Orchard Branch, Haunted Cinema at the Draonfly Cinema and a zombie pub crawl.  Be sure to stop in at the various downtown merchants who are treating.  

There will be great shopping opportunities among the downtown merchants on Shop Small Saturday, November 25.

In December, we’re all getting ready for the holidays and the Festival of Chimes and Lights, sponsored by the City of Port Orchard, will lead the way on December 1, including the Port Orchard Bay Street Association Holiday Pet Parade, Sinclair Inlet Yacht Club Christmas Lane and, of course, the Jingle Bell Run. The Log Cabin Museum will have its annual Pictures with Santa at the Log Cabin Museum the first two weekends in December – bring your camera, your family or your pets and the Log Cabin will provide Santa and the Christmas tree!
